ByWayofVeganDonutsFS

In a tourist town in the Canadian Rockies, Simon is spending the summer working at his sister-in-law’s bookstore. Shy around new people, Simon prefers to keep his nose in a book. When Benji, a local who works at a café down the street, hears Simon is vegan, he figures the best way to welcome him is bake him a vegan donut.

Upon their first meeting, there’s an undeniable burst of chemistry. Simon is drawn to Benji’s outgoing personality and wants to get to know him better. All Simon has to do is figure out a way to get over his nervousness and ask the casually flirty Benji on a date.

New Release – JACK WOLF

I’m so pleased to announce my novella JACK WOLF, a m/m romance, has released this week!  It’s a steampunk western.  With werewolves!

Jack Wolf

Henry Dalton is sent across the country by train to the western town of Woolridge in order to investigate the werewolf problem they’re having during the monthly moon cycle. The townsfolk are not forthcoming with information, making it difficult for Henry to solve the case.

Even more distracting is Jack, a handsome older lycanthrope. Known for his rebellious youth, Jack has settled down into life and routine in Woolridge, working as the local blacksmith. He assures Henry he’s no longer trying to stir up trouble, that those days are long gone. Henry must attempt to ignore the spark between them, the indication of their potential to become mates, which is rare because Henry is human. Henry remains professional and focuses on his job, but each meeting with Jack adds to the draw, and Henry isn’t sure how much longer he’ll be able to resist.

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2015 Daily Dose package “Never Too Late.”

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, all!

My year is starting out great so far! I’ve had such a productive first week of 2015.

  • Signed a contract for a novella, to be published with Dreamspinner Press this summer! I’m very excited about it.
  • Finished off a novella to send in for an open call. It’s a complete reworking of a short story I wrote a couple years ago that had not been accepted into the anthology I had in mind at the time. I haven’t touched it since, unsure how to make it better, but a new open call came up that it could be worked with. I revised the plot and added about 7K. I’m glad to have revisited it, it’s a stronger story with a purpose now.

2015 Writing Goals!

  • Finish my YA novel I haven’t looked at in several months. Current word count: 30K. Will reach at least 60K.
  • Holiday themed novella for an open call. (I’ve been meaning to for the past two years, but never get to it.  Hard to write Christmas while it’s July, but this year I’ll try.)
  • Start a second novel. (I have three ideas floating around for this, so I’ll pick one and stick with it until it’s done.)

That, plus the Day Job, will keep me busy but I’m looking forward to it!

Autumn Progress

I have been so remiss in updating this blog recently. Life is moving fast, but great things are happening.

First Publication!

The m/m romantic anthology All in a Day’s Work was released on September 22nd through Dreamspinner Press! I am so pleased to have been invited to be a part of this anthology, and I am very proud of my short story that is included, Unmasked. This is my first official piece in print publication, so… I’m officially a published author now! So happy!

aiadw

Eight short stories about finding love—or a hot hook-up—at work. All but one are contemporary, with the outlier being a 1930s historical that will give you a new perspective on dance halls. From newlyweds who can’t keep their hands off each other in the office to Revolutionary War reenactors who spice up Washington’s Army to high society spies engaged in dangerous espionage, no one will suggest that the characters in All in a Day’s Work give up their day jobs!

Writing!

I’ve spent the last couple months working on a short story for an open call submission for another m/m romance anthology. It was submitted by the end of September, so hopefully I’ll hear back soon. I had a really great time writing that one. It is a lot sweeter and fluffier than the previous story I wrote, which was a nice change of pace.

I’m so very thrilled to be a part of this, and to have the chance to work with such amazing authors. I’m so looking forward to the release! It was include my very first publication, the short story Unmasked:

In the near future, the line between the poor and the Uppers—the cruel and greedy rich—is sharper than ever. Raven’s work as a spy is to maintain the public persona of a member of high society while teaming up with his tech handler, codename Glitch, to electronically steal from the rich and redirect resources to the poor. They’ve set their sights on avaricious Upper Jakinda Diaz, who Raven has been studying for months. After a close call on the mission, Raven returns to their safe house full of restless energy. Both Raven and Glitch need to relieve the stress of their dangerous careers in espionage and they find that with each other.
