April 2014

April was a productive month for me, for which I am really happy about!

  • polished off one submission that was included in an anthology with 7 other writers to have pitched for publication.
  • finished/polished off a YA LGBT short story, and submitted it to an open call.
  • worked with a short story I wrote a year ago.  It had been written for an open call, but not picked up.   Edited and submitted it to a different open call with similar themes, since it’d just been sitting there untouched for a year.  Happy to send it out into the world again!
  • started on the original fiction novel, which is a YA LGBT urban fantasy.  Chapter 1 is done at 7K!

Everything is still in ‘status pending’ or WIP mode, but I’m actually quite thrilled with how I managed my writing time against my work time and with the progress I made.

May = keep plugging away at the Novel.  I would love to have the one done by the end of the summer.  So we’ll see how that goes!

About KayWalkerWrites

Kay Walker was born and raised on the Canadian Prairies. Growing up in a small town, books helped pass the time and opened up the world and imagination. That love for stories has long lasted. Kay spends her work days in office administration, and uses spare time to write fiction, for worlds and stories still live on in her mind. She's working on that whole getting published thing.
